Wine Talk: Memorial Day Special
Memorial Day weekend is a considered the kickoff to summer in Wisconsin. It’s a time for family and friends to gather in celebration and remembrance. We took time to celebrate this occasion with our own backyard barbecue (and a glass of wine or two). Cheers!
SAM, Marketing Director: “Typically when the weather is nice, Algoma, which is my hometown, they have a short little Memorial Day parade. It’s one of those ‘if you blink you miss it’ kind of parades, but it’s still something that we go to every year.”
STEVE, Winemaker: “Enjoying a grill out from my parents. Watching the Indy 500. And just anticipating the end of the school year and a summer filled with fun. Whether you’re having a backyard barbecue or a serious sit down meal, these wines work. And the fact that they’re locally grown makes the occasion more memorable.”
CHANDRA, Club/Tasting Room Manager: “It’s just a fun day to have a cookout with family. We also go out to the mausoleum. We take time to remember my grandparents and put flowers out. It’s like the part for me that’s like ‘hey summer’s finally going to start and it’s going to be here.'”
MARIA, Owner: “Wine is a perfect way to bring multiple generations together from the grandparents, to the parents, to the adult children, all hanging together. It’s a time when families get together and catch up on what they’ve been doing throughout the year, and what better way to do that than over a glass of wine.”
