The Marquette grape is grown at our Door 44 Vineyard located in the heart of the Wisconsin Ledge AVA. This grape varietal was introduced in 2006 by the University of Minnesota and was named after the Jesuit explorer Pere Marquette, who explored our region in the 1600s. The Marquette grape has parentage from the Pinot Noir grape, and like that grape, Marquette expresses itself with a fruit forward, bright and balanced experience. Marquette wine stands shoulder to shoulder with Oregon Pinot Noir and Burgundy.
Blanc De Marquette means “white” Marquette and is a product of gentle skin contact on this red grape to create this velvety, smooth dry rose’ with bright fruit forward aromatics.
